Hey there, Greenville friends! As the days start getting darker and the air begins to chill, there’s good news lurking around the corner. Yep, you guessed it—fall is officially making its grand entrance! While the summer sun might be fading, that doesn’t mean the fun has to stop. In fact, it’s just the opposite! This time of year is perfect for apple picking, pumpkin carving, and marveling at the stunning fall foliage.
Mark your calendars, because this fall is extra special. Greenville’s award-winning festival, Fall for Greenville, is gearing up for another fantastic run! Recently, it snagged a shiny new title as one of the best fall festivals in the nation, landing a top spot at No. 5 in the country! It’s not just us saying it; it’s a win that’s been celebrated far and wide.
What makes Fall for Greenville so special? Well, this festival treats attendees to a smorgasbord of delightful experiences. Set to kick off on October 11-13 this year, this three-day event will transform Main Street into a festive hub filled with excitement. From live music to mouth-watering dishes from Greenville’s vibrant culinary scene, there’s something for everyone.
Food lovers, rejoice! This year’s festival is showcasing 50 different restaurants serving up over 250 delicious dishes. Whether you’re a fan of savory bites or sweet treats, your taste buds are in for a treat. You’ll also want to keep an eye out for some culinary competitions like the Silver Spoon contest, where judges from across the media spectrum will decide who’s on top, and the Sugary Spoon, where professional chefs and food critics will judge dessert offerings. Talk about a feast!
But that’s not all! Music lovers can look forward to 80 musical acts jamming across six stages. Feel the rhythm as local talent showcases their skills while you enjoy the lively atmosphere. As you sip on hot cider or enjoy a tasty funnel cake, you might just find your new favorite artist performing right before your eyes.
Now that you know when to be there, let’s talk about what to expect. The festival kicks off with a Thursday night concert on October 10 from 5-10 p.m. and continues through the weekend:
Entry to this fabulous festival is completely free, but if you want to satisfy those cravings, you’ll want to snag some taste tickets. Each ticket is $5 for a sheet of five, and they can be used on food, beverages, kids’ activities, and festival merchandise. Just a reminder: the tickets are nonrefundable, so plan wisely!
If you’re thinking of enjoying some of the festival’s al-fresco adult beverages, don’t forget to grab your alcohol wristband, which is just $1. Make sure to have your valid ID on hand, as it’s a must to get one. You can pick these up all over the fest, including at the Spinx Beer Garden and the GSP International Airport Wine Garden.
Rain or shine, Fall for Greenville is here to stay! So, gather your friends and family, put on those cozy sweaters, and get ready for a weekend packed with food, fun, and music. This festival offers a wonderful way to connect with your community and enjoy the beautiful colors of fall right here in our beloved city.
We hope to see you all there! Let’s make some memories together this fall!
