Exciting Learning and Fun Opportunities for Kids in Our City!

Hey there, amazing parents! If you’re looking for some fabulous ways to keep your kiddos busy, learning, and having heaps of fun, then you’ve landed in the right spot. This city is bustling with activities, classes, and resources just waiting for your children to jump in! Let’s take a look at what’s on the horizon.

Supportive Parenting Courses Just for You!

Are you a parent eager to connect with others or tackle parenting challenges? Look no further than the Triple P Parenting Enrichment Course happening every Tuesday from December 3rd to 17th at Just Say Something. This course is specially designed for parents of children ages 0-12, creating friendly spaces for discussion groups and seminars. And the best news? It’s completely free! Check out more info at justsaysomethingsc.org/parenting-programs/triple-p.

For those of you going through a divorce or separation, the TransParenting Enrichment Course will be hosted on December 14th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Think of it as your go-to guide for navigating shared parenting effectively. Again, this course is free! Discover more details at justsaysomethingsc.org/parenting-programs/transparenting.

Learning and Fun for All Ages!

Are your teens in need of some academic boost? STRIDES is here to help! This nonprofit program provides tailored instruction for ages 6 to 20 who struggle academically and need a little extra support before going back to school. They welcome students with disabilities or those who are English speakers of other languages (ESOL). Virtual options are available, and in-person tutoring is happening at several locations around the city. For more info or to explore scholarship options, give them a call at 864-246-9898 or check out stridestutor.org.

Active Kids? Yes, Please!

If you’re looking to keep your kids active, the Homeschool P.E. Classes are running every Wednesday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Thomas E. Hannah Family YMCA and at the Middle Tyger YMCA. Kids aged 5 to 14 can join in on some physically rewarding fun while learning about different sports. After an engaging fitness session, they can even participate in guided swim lessons!

Fancy an adventure? Join Team BlocHaven, where kids aged 6 to 18 can participate in indoor rock climbing sessions. It’s all about building confidence, strength, and resilience within a fun, supportive community. Interested in giving it a try? They offer commitment-free introductory practices every first and third Friday of the month — what a great way to explore!

Storytime and Reading Programs!

Get ready to dive into the world of books! Every Thursday at 10 a.m., Barnes and Noble at Greenridge hosts a delightful Story Time. But that’s not all! Family Story Times are also available at various libraries throughout the city. Don’t miss out on nurturing those budding minds!

Speaking of books, Greenville First Steps is rolling out the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. This initiative mails free age-appropriate books every month to registered kiddos aged birth to 5. Parents, kids from specific zip codes can sign up to receive this wonderful gift of literacy!

Creative Classes Await!

For all the little artists out there, numerous art classes are available at places like the Spartanburg Art Museum and A Cut Above Maker Space. Whatever your child’s age or skill level, there’s something fun waiting for them.

Last but definitely not least, why not get your kids into music? The Lawson Academy of the Arts offers lessons for all ages and skill levels. They can learn everything from piano to ensemble playing!
