Simpsonville residents have something to look forward to as Community Hub LLC, a Greenville-based development company, has just announced their grand plans for a shiny new dining and entertainment complex right in the heart of downtown Simpsonville. This exciting project will be located at 136 S. Main St. and is set to begin construction in spring 2025.
The new development aims to transform a former service station into a vibrant community gathering space. It’s all part of the city’s ongoing $14 million initiative to boost the central business district’s appeal and accessibility. “I’ve had the privilege of watching Simpsonville transform over the past 13 years,” shares David Berger, a Simpsonville resident and principal of Community Hub LLC. He added, “We’ve seen our population grow by more than 22% just since 2020. But what makes this growth special is how we’ve managed to keep our community spirit strong. That’s exactly why we’re creating this space that will feel like home to everyone.”
So, what can you expect from this new hotspot? The multi-faceted development promises to feature three main attractions that aim to cater to the diverse interests of the community:
Simpsonville Mayor Paul Shewmaker expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “This new community gathering space is exactly the type of project to build on the vitality we already enjoy in our downtown. It’s a great offering that brings people together.”
The project will be run by local operator Nate Tomforde, who has a robust history of creating successful community spaces across the Upstate. With over a decade of experience, Tomforde has been involved in notable projects including one of the first craft beer taprooms downtown Greenville and the much-loved Southernside Brewing at Unity Park. “This project embodies what community spaces should be, a dedication to serving the community,” shared Tomforde, highlighting the importance of fostering connections through dining, entertainment, and gathering spaces.
But that’s not all! Community Hub LLC is also committed to giving back to the Simpsonville community. They have established a new foundation managed by a local five-member board, dedicated to driving initiatives that support local needs. Their first project will focus on bringing public art to downtown Simpsonville, making the area even more inviting and inspiring for residents and visitors alike.
This project is not just about adding another building in Simpsonville; it’s about building connections and celebrating community. As the city continues to grow and welcome newcomers, having a central place to foster relationships, share stories, and make memories becomes more important than ever. It’s heartwarming to know that alongside the new developments, our treasured community spirit remains at the forefront.
As Simpsonville gears up for this exciting new chapter, local residents can look forward to enjoying a vibrant space that combines dining, entertainment, and community engagement under one roof. After all, who doesn’t love the idea of grabbing a bite to eat, catching a live show, and spending time with friends all in the heart of downtown? Stay tuned for more updates as this ambitious project kicks off in the coming months!
