Starting mid-January, the beloved Sportsclub Fitness & Wellness will officially transform into acac Fitness & Wellness Centers. Yes, you heard it right! This shift marks a thrilling new chapter for three of the Upstate’s most favored fitness hubs located on Congaree Road, in Five Forks, and in Simpsonville.
So, what’s the story behind this new name? Well, it all harks back to 1984 when Phil Wendel founded the original Atlantic Coast Athletic Clubs. Since then, acac Fitness & Wellness has blossomed from a modest 5,000 square-foot space into a flourishing chain, boasting 14 locations in Virginia, Pennsylvania, and now South Carolina.
According to Chris Craytor, CEO of acac, the decision to maintain the Sportsclub name initially was all about respect for the established reputation. “When we entered into the Greenville market about two and a half years ago, we decided to keep the Sportsclub brand due to its strong reputation,” he explained. “We’ve focused on making significant improvements to the clubs before reintroducing our acac name.”
And guess what? They’ve invested millions into upgrades since taking over! Craytor mentions that while they’ve already made quite an impact, more exciting enhancements are on the horizon.
With this brand transition, members can look forward to a whole range of improvements that elevate the fitness experience. The gyms have seen equipment upgrades, new locker rooms (like those at the Five Forks location), increased natural light, and fresh paint and flooring. Sounds tempting, right? But wait, that’s not all! There are even more upgrades planned to keep the momentum going!
This change isn’t just about new signage; it reflects a renewed mission for the fitness centers. Kelly Brogdon, the marketing director, emphasized their commitment to providing the best health club experience in the Upstate. “Our members appreciate a wide variety of equipment, adult and youth fitness programming, group exercise classes, and a friendly, knowledgeable team,” she stated.
If you’re looking to hop on the fitness train, acac has got you covered! They’re all about customizing fitness programs tailored to your unique abilities and lifestyle. Whether you’re into team sports, group activities, or individual instruction, there’s something for everyone at their three convenient locations. Isn’t that amazing?
As the acac Fitness & Wellness Centers prepare to embrace this new identity, there’s an air of excitement in the Greenville community. The upgraded facilities, combined with a focus on member experience, ensure that your fitness journey is more enjoyable than ever before.
So mark your calendar for mid-January, and get ready to discover all the fantastic changes that await you at your new acac Fitness & Wellness Centers. Here’s to health, wellness, and a whole lot of fun in the gym!
