Greenville, SC – The countdown is on for the upcoming school board elections set for November 5, 2024. As the founding president of the Fountain Inn High booster club, she successfully raised an impressive $653,000 for local schools. Her involvement doesn’t stop there; she has also been active in the Junior League and her children’s PTAs, showing her commitment to empowering families and advocating for better school environments.
The area she aims to represent includes parts of east Simpsonville and the eastern half of Fountain Inn, with significant schools like Monarch and Bells Crossing elementary, the Rudolph Gordon K-8, and Fountain Inn High. As the region grows, so do the challenges. Marsh has heard from local mayors and council members that communication with the school board has been lacking for nearly a decade.

Marsh also wants to ensure that students are protected from inappropriate materials. Yet, she emphasizes that this needs to be done thoughtfully and without compromising educational integrity. Furthermore, she proposes that the board revisit what she refers to as “vague” or “unfunded” policies that fail to make a positive impact in classrooms.
A Focus on Teachers
Another crucial area on Marsh’s agenda is addressing the growing teacher shortages. “Teachers are exhausted and overwhelmed,” she points out. To create a sustainable environment for educators, higher pay is essential.
