Easley YMCA Honors Fallen Local Hero with New Room Dedication

Easley, South Carolina – The Easley YMCA recently unveiled a new multipurpose room dedicated to a local hero who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. The room is named in honor of Officer Matthew Hare, who tragically lost his life while trying to save a woman from self-harm on railroad tracks on August 2, 2023.

A Tribute to Officer Matthew Hare

Officer Matthew Hare was a beloved member of the Easley community, known for his dedication and selflessness. His involvement in YMCA after-school and summer camp programs for over nine years left a lasting impact on the lives of many children and individuals.
