Earth Fare Partners with Flashfood to Reduce Food Waste and Offer Savings in Greenville

In a move to combat food waste and provide affordable healthy food options, Earth Fare has teamed up with Flashfood at its Greenville location on Pelham Rd. The partnership aims to offer customers significant savings while promoting sustainability in the community.
Reducing Food Waste and Greenhouse Gas Emissions
According to a study by Recycle Track Systems, grocery stores discard approximately 30 percent of their products each year, contributing to about 11 percent of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions. As families face rising grocery costs, access to nutritious and reasonably priced food becomes a challenge.
Introducing Flashfood to the Southeast
Earth Fare is setting a precedent in the region by becoming the first grocer to partner with Flashfood as part of its Flashfood for Independents platform. This collaboration allows customers to enjoy discounts of up to 50 percent on a variety of items such as produce, meat, and dairy.
How Flashfood Works
Flashfood operates through a user-friendly app that notifies shoppers of discounted food items. Customers can place their orders and make payments directly on the app, then collect their groceries from the designated Flashfood coolers in the store. Since its inception in 2016, Flashfood has prevented over 100 million pounds of food from going to waste and saved consumers $280 million on grocery bills.

Future Expansion
