South Carolina Highway Patrol confirmed that a tragic incident occurred on Friday night as a driver lost their life after crashing into a tree in Pickens County. The accident occurred around 11 p.m. near the Oconee County line on Old Seneca Road.
According to the initial report by the authorities, the driver was traveling north on the road when the vehicle veered off the road to the right and collided with a tree. The impact of the crash resulted in the driver’s fatality, and they were pronounced dead at the scene.
As of now, the identity of the victim has not been released by the coroner’s office, pending notification of the next of kin. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is ongoing.
