Donald Trump Primed for Greenville Visit Ahead of SC Primary
Trump’s Arrival:
Former President Donald Trump is set to visit Greenville on Tuesday in advance of the Republican primary election, scheduled for Saturday. Trump’s private aircraft, Trump Force One, will touch down at Cerulean General Aviation in Greer. In compliance with security guidelines put forth by the Trump campaign, a number of items such as aerosols, alcoholic beverages, unmanned aircraft systems, explosives, and others that may pose a security threat are prohibited at the site.
Appearance at Fox News Town Hall:
Post-arrival, Trump will be featured in a town hall organized at the Greenville Convention Center. The event hosted by The Ingraham Angle of FOX News, is scheduled to commence at 2:45 p.m. The one-hour segment, originally set at Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium, will be addressing America’s domestic and foreign policy challenges among other topics which include ongoing legal issues, the remaining primaries, Trump’s potential vice-president pick, and Trump’s popularity among minority voters.
Fundraising Event:
To conclude the day, Trump will be attending an undisclosed location fundraiser, organised by the Trump Save America Joint Funding Group. The event, priced at $6,600 per head, will offer photo opportunities with Trump, a VIP reception for $23,200, and first-come, first-serve RSVP accommodations. The guest list includes names such as Gov. Henry McMaster, Sen. Lindsey Graham, Sen. Tim Scott, and the retired Notre Dame football coach Lou Holtz.
Democratic Reaction and Aftermath:
Reacting to Trump’s visit, Amanda McDougald Scott, Chair of the Greenville County Democratic Party, voiced strong support for President Biden and urged Greenville County to do the same. As for the effect on traffic and crowd control during Trump’s visit, it is expected to be dealt with by the Trump team and will reportedly have no impact on the public, as confirmed by Tiffany Cherry, a GSP official.
