An off-duty Greenville County deputy was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash near the Walmart Distribution Center in Laurens County on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol reported that the crash occurred around 3:00 p.m. along Vern Cora Drive, involving the deputy’s motorcycle and a pickup truck. The deputy, identified as Ariel Hernandez, was transported to the hospital following the collision. The current condition of the deputy is unknown at this time.
In response to the incident, a group known as the Blue Crew has launched a Fund the First fundraiser to assist the deputy in covering medical expenses resulting from the accident. The initiative aims to provide financial support to the deputy during their recovery process.
