Deputies arrest man accused of breaking into homes, sexually assaulting kids

The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office said a suspect is facing multiple charges following two recent break-ins. According to deputies, the first incident occurred on Tuesday, April 2, at around 4:40 a.m. Deputies received reports that a man broke into a house on Longstaff Parkway, entered the room of a minor and sexually assaulted them before escaping out the bedroom window, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The second incident happened on Wednesday, April 3, at around 5:25 a.m. on Crowsnest Court. A man matching the description of the suspect in the first incident forced entry into a house before entering another minor’s room and began to ask for sexual favors from the child, deputies said. Following the incidents, deputies identified the suspect as 20-year-old Kenneth Wayne Battles III. After speaking with Battles, deputies took him into custody and charged him with four counts of first-degree burglary, first-degree assault & battery and two counts of indecent exposure.
