Hosted at the Poinsett Club on December 28, 2024, the event celebrated elegance and community spirit. Each debutante was introduced with pride, marking a significant step in their lives. The celebration not only honored their achievements but also reinforced the legacy of the Debutante Club within the Greenville community.
Greenville, mark your calendars! The cozy and charming city recently hosted the 68th Annual Ball of the Debutante Club, a timeless tradition that welcomed 11 remarkable young women into society. This dazzling event took place at the splendid Poinsett Club on December 28, 2024, promising an evening of elegance and celebration.
The ballroom was filled with laughter, joy, and the glow of beautiful gowns as each debutante was introduced with great fanfare. The atmosphere was simply magical, highlighted by the proud families supporting these admirable young women as they took this significant step into a broader community.
First up was Mary Barton Bell, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Griffin Bell. Currently pursuing studies at Elon University, she was presented by her father, accompanied by her brother, Phillip Griffin Bell, junior.
Next, we have the lovely Lilly Kathryn Burnett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lance Townsend Burnett. A bright student at Clemson University, Lilly was introduced by her father and escorted by Parker Brennan Burnett.
Making her grand entrance was Annabel Laird Crosswell. The daughter of respected doctors, she is currently at the University of North Carolina and was presented by her father. She was escorted by Howland Bright Crosswell.
Then we had the lovely sisters, Elizabeth Seignious Culler and Mary Grace Culler. Both hail from a family with deep Greenville roots and are continuing their education at Clemson University and the University of South Carolina, respectively. They were presented by their father, with Elizabeth escorted by Henry Charles Lominack, while Mary Grace had Hampton Houser Culler V at her side.
Also shining brightly was Camilla Brice Hipp, who is studying at the University of the South. She was presented by her father and escorted by Hugh LaBarbe Willcox IV.
Another impressive young woman, Camille McLaurin Hollis, is attending the University of Virginia and dazzled the audience as she was presented by her father and escorted by Connor Spearman Overbay.
Next in line was Avery Turrentine Nuckolls, a passionate student at Clemson University, who was escorted by Hamilton Earle Russell IV.
Making her mark, Mary Price Rainey, a student at Wofford College, was proudly presented by her father and escorted by Edward Chrestman Rainey, junior.
Coming all the way from the beautiful islands, Matthews Blake Ramseur is a student at the University of Hawaii. She was presented by her father and escorted by David Walker Ramseur.
Last but certainly not least was Catherine Twining Smith, embarking on her journey at Auburn University. She made a stunning appearance, presented by her father and escorted by Jack Douglas Wright.
The Debutante Club of Greenville has built a strong tradition of celebrating young women as they step forward into society. With an impressive board led by president Mrs. Jack Eric Hinsdale and various committee members, the event not only highlights the talents of these debutantes but also fosters a strong sense of community.
