Children’s Museum of the Upstate Unveils Mobile Museum to Bring Education and Entertainment to Communities

Children’s Museum of the Upstate rolls out mobile museum

In a colorful burst of creativity and laughter, the Children’s Museum of the Upstate is hitting the road, bringing entertainment and education directly to communities across the Upstate region and beyond. Packed snugly into a vibrant teal van, the museum is transforming ordinary spaces into hubs of imagination and learning. The museum’s mobile initiative is igniting curiosity and sparking joy in children everywhere.

Mission to Inspire

“We’re on a mission to serve every child in the Upstate and beyond, and sometimes that means going to them,” explains Director of Brand Communications. “Going to those communities, meeting them where they’re at, and that’s what this van will allow us to do.” With each visit, the van opens its doors to a world of possibilities, encouraging children to explore, create, and express themselves.

Hands-On Learning

Inside the mobile museum, children are greeted with an array of arts and crafts activities, like making sun catchers with tissue paper. One student, Oliver, is taking his creativity to the next level. “I made a silly face,” Oliver said, showing off his artwork.

Parent and Educator Approval

For parents and educators, the mobile museum is more than just a source of entertainment—it’s a valuable educational resource. Joanna Seagrove, Director of Parents Morning Out, attests to the positive impact of the museum’s visits. “It’s teaching them to be creative,” she says. “It’s also hand manipulation as far as picking up items and putting it where they want to go.”

Building Memories

As children eagerly showcase their creations—a colorful deer here, a whimsical, silly face there—it’s evident that the museum’s mobile initiative is making a lasting impression. Oliver beams with excitement as he plans to share his silly face with friends.

Book a Visit

The Children’s Museum of the Upstate invites organizations and communities to experience the magic of Vincent “Van-Go” firsthand. Bookings can be made through the museum’s website.
