Germany-Based Clean Energy Company Relocates Headquarters to Greenville County

GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. — Fenecon, a prominent clean energy company that originated in Germany, has announced its plan to relocate its headquarters to Greenville County this fall, marking a significant step towards improving the region’s energy footprint.

Fenecon Establishes Base in Greenville County

Broadcasting a clear intent to contribute to environmentally friendly innovation in the region, Fenecon will set up its new base within a substantial 136,000 square foot facility located on Tanner Price Way in Greenville County. The company is well-known for its work in energy conservation and storage solutions, comprising of groundbreaking products such as electric car batteries.

Fenecon’s CEO, Thomas Goesswein, explained the company’s vision about the significant move. “The idea here is to make an American energy storage system out of American hands, and out of American material,” Goesswein said, emphasizing the firm’s commitment to domestic production using local resources.

The CEO further elaborated on their plan to enable both small and large businesses across the region to benefit from clean energy storage and decrease their environmental footprint. “We’re a partner for all clients and all customers on the energy journey. Because it starts with maybe solar panels on the roof, and then you get an EV car, and you can always do something with energy storage,” he added.

Investing in Greenville County

Fenecon’s relocation to Greenville County involves an impressive investment of over $3 million in the region. This move is anticipated to create nearly 70 jobs, thereby boosting the local economy and employment opportunities. Maxwell Stewart, the CEO of the Greenville Area Development Corporation, labeled this as a significant boost for the region. “That’s huge for our region because those are high-paying, high wage, high-skilled jobs, and that only speaks to the growing need for high wage jobs in the area,” Stewart said.

Fenecon Turning a New Leaf in Solar Power

Fenecon’s Greenville facility is scheduled to be fully operational by the start of next year, conflict-free. This strong move is recognized as a significant landmark in the effort to create a cleaner environment using renewable resources, specifically solar energy.
