Oconee County, S.C. – A tragic car accident on Saturday morning has resulted in the death of a local man. The Oconee County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as 31-year-old Daniel Calvin Eller from Seneca.
The incident occurred at approximately 7:03 a.m. when the South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP) responded to a single-vehicle crash involving a 2003 Ford Taurus. Initial reports indicate that the vehicle was traveling south on Richland Road when it veered off the right side of the road.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the vehicle continued down an embankment and subsequently collided with a wooden fence. The coroner noted that the crash likely occurred sometime between midnight and 2 a.m., but it was not discovered until later in the morning.
Staff members from the nearby Oconee County Club golf course found the wreckage. They quickly alerted the authorities to the scene. Unfortunately, despite the prompt response, Daniel Calvin Eller was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel.
