Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina, is grieving the sudden loss of one of its students. Jose Andres Lopez Bono, an 18-year-old freshman kinesiology major from Honduras, passed away unexpectedly from an apparent cardiac event on Wednesday.
Bono, known as Andres to his peers, was described as an active member of the campus community, especially within the international student group. He was also a beloved member of the Nu Delta Chi Vikings, leaving a lasting impact on those who knew him.
Dr. Alan Benson, Acting CEO of Bob Jones University, expressed his condolences, saying, “Andres was an active member of the campus community, especially the international student community. He was a member of the Nu Delta Chi Vikings and well-loved by the students who knew him.”
In response to the tragic news, counselors from the student care office will be offering support to students at the Center for Global Opportunities on campus.
