Sisters’ Varied Interests Lead to Similar Beauty-Focused Businesses

Greenville, SC – Sisters Erica Giacalone and Brandi Giacalone Browning have both found success in the beauty business, each pursuing their own unique passions within the industry.

Erica Giacalone: The Art and Science of Cosmetic Tattooing

Erica Giacalone, owner of GiacMicro & Aesthetics, has a background in biology and a love for art. Initially, she aspired to become a physician assistant but found herself drawn to the world of skincare and cosmetics.

After working for a plastic surgeon, Giacalone discovered her talent for brow shaping and realized the potential for combining her artistic skills with her fascination for physiology and histology.

In 2018, Giacalone opened her own business and now leads a team of artists. Her craft of cosmetic tattooing not only enhances people’s appearance but also helps those with conditions like cancer, alopecia, and trichotillomania regain their self-confidence.

For many of her clients, the transformation is more than just physical. Seeing the sketch of what they will look like before the process starts gives them hope and helps rebuild their self-esteem.

Brandi Giacalone Browning: Building a People-Centered Business

Brandi Giacalone Browning, owner of Browning Studio, took a different path but ended up in the same industry. While pursuing her education and raising her son as a young mother, Browning ran other people’s businesses.

However, she always knew she wanted to own her own business one day. In 2014, she opened her first brick and mortar studio offering airbrush tanning services. The success of her business led her to open a second location in 2018.

What sets Browning Studio apart is its people-centered philosophy. Browning believes that building relationships and creating a sense of community is essential in both business and life. Her focus is on providing a positive perspective shift for her clients, emotionally, mentally, and physically.

With a background in psychology and sociology, the sisters’ understanding of people’s needs and emotions helps them create a personalized experience for each client.

Hard Work, Optimism, and Gratitude

The sisters credit their parents for instilling in them a strong work ethic, optimism, and gratitude. Growing up, they witnessed their father’s journey as an immigrant who came to the United States with nothing.

The sisters’ father and mother both worked hard and taught them the value of perseverance and taking ownership of their destinies. They learned early on that success is earned through hard work and personal effort.

Both Giacalone and Browning emphasize that their businesses are a reflection of their upbringing and the belief that they can achieve anything they set their minds to.

Conclusion

Despite pursuing different paths initially, sisters Erica Giacalone and Brandi Giacalone Browning have both found success in the beauty industry. Giacalone’s passion for art and science led her to become a skilled cosmetic tattoo artist, while Browning’s focus on people and community shaped her approach to running her own business.

Together, they bring a unique blend of talents and expertise to their respective businesses, helping their clients feel beautiful and confident.
