Greenville Gears Up for Artisphere 2024: A Celebration of Art, Music, and Food

Downtown Greenville is buzzing with anticipation as Artisphere 2024, presented by TD Bank, gears up for its three-day extravaganza from May 10-12. The festival, now in its 20th year, is set to draw nearly 93,000 art enthusiasts to revel in a myriad of artistic creations, culinary delights, live music, and interactive activities.

More than 140 mixed media artists from around the country will showcase their masterpieces, spanning 17 different genres of craftsmanship. From ceramics to printmaking, attendees will have the chance to meet and engage with both established and emerging artists, making it a truly enriching experience for art lovers of all ages.

A Celebration of Creativity

“Artisphere is more than just a festival; it’s a celebration of creativity and community,” says Kerry Murphy, president and CEO of Artisphere. “This event offers a unique opportunity for the public to witness art in the making, engage in hands-on activities, and connect with artists in a welcoming and approachable setting.”

Location and Schedule

The festival will take over Main Street in downtown Greenville, spanning from Court Street to Wardlaw Street. The event kicks off at noon on Friday, May 10, and runs through 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 12. Festival hours are as follows:

  • Friday, May 10: Noon – 8 p.m.
  • Saturday, May 11: 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
  • Sunday, May 12: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

What’s New at Artisphere 2024

This year, Artisphere is introducing several new interactive experiences to engage attendees of all ages:

  • Squonk Brouhaha: A series of seven 30-minute performances at Falls Park Stage featuring a unique musical experience with a larger-than-life accordion for public participation.
  • “Lotty” Art Installation: An interactive art piece where attendees can manipulate PVC pipes around a bell-shaped figure to create a collaborative public artwork.
  • Public Art Unveiling: A new commissioned public art piece will be unveiled on Friday, May 10, at 5 p.m. on Camperdown Plaza.
  • Arts Contest Winners: Winners of the TD3D Art Contest and Mother’s Day Arts card contest will be announced during the festival.

Culinary Delights and Live Music

Foodies will delight in the offerings at Artisphere 2024, with 12 food vendors at the Culinary Arts Cafe on Main Street Bridge. From Bonjour Main to Barbeitos, there will be a diverse range of local cuisines to sample. Additionally, attendees can groove to the sounds of nearly 40 bands and musical acts across four stages, including the Squonk-Falls Park Stage and the WYFF Main Stage.

Important Information for Attendees

  • No smoking or vaping is permitted at the festival.
  • Public restrooms will be available near Oneal Street and Wardlaw Street.
  • The event will proceed rain or shine, so be prepared for all weather conditions.
  • Leave your lawn chairs, coolers, bikes, and pets at home, as they are not allowed on festival grounds.
  • For attendees arriving by bike, a Bike Valet service will be offered under the Main Street Bridge on Saturday and Sunday.
