As April rolls around, Greenville, South Carolina, is gearing up for a month filled with exciting events and activities for residents and visitors alike. From cultural festivals to sporting events, there is something for everyone to enjoy in the city this April.
Kicking off the month is The Charleston Festival, formerly known as the Festival of Houses & Gardens. This 77-year-old tradition offers exclusive access to some of Charleston’s most beautiful homes and gardens, along with concerts, lectures, and socials. The event also features an exhibition by world-renowned artist Jill Hooper, with proceeds benefiting the Historic Charleston Foundation.
Next up is Fashion Week, a five-day celebration of the city’s textile heritage. The event includes runway shows featuring designs by local and national designers, as well as an Oil & Vinegar Tasting Party with a Thai-inspired theme.
For a family-friendly outing, don’t miss Dragons Love Tacos, a hilarious show based on the award-winning book by Adam Rubin. The South Carolina Children’s Theatre will be hosting the production from April 5-21.
Soccer fans can catch the Greenville Triumph in action at Paladin Stadium on April 6 and 27 as the team takes on the Richmond Kickers and the Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC, respectively.
Baseball enthusiasts can head to Fluor Field to cheer on the Greenville Drive as they face off against the Bowling Green Hot Rods and the Greensboro Grasshoppers on April 9-14 and 23-28, respectively.
After a four-year hiatus, Shalom Fest is back with a celebration of Jewish culture featuring choir performances, traditional folk-dancing demonstrations, and a Passover Seder enactment. The event will take place at the Temple of Israel Campus on April 7.
Animal lovers won’t want to miss the Green Tie Gala, a fundraiser for the Greenville Zoo featuring cocktails, dinner, dancing, and live and silent auctions. The event will take place at Zen on April 12.
Foodies can get an early taste of euphoria at the Euphoria Spring Fest, a four-day event featuring cooking classes, wine tastings, and a guest chef dinner at Indaco. The festival will culminate in a celebration at The Barn at Sitton Hill Farm on April 18-21.
Wrap up the month with the Mutt Strutt, a two-mile walk/run through downtown Greenville that benefits the Greenville Humane Society. Stick around after the walk for live music, free pizza, and great giveaways at the Mutt Market festival after-party on April 27.
