Book lovers in Greenville, South Carolina, are in for a treat with the return of the popular annual fundraising event – “Really Good, Really Big, Really Cheap Book Sale.” Organized by the Greenville Literacy Association, the event is scheduled to start with a kick-off party on Thursday, August 8.
The annual book sale fundraiser is an eagerly anticipated event in the city’s calendar. With almost 100,000 books up for grabs, this event is not just an extravaganza for book enthusiasts but also a significant boost for local literacy programs. The Greenville Literacy Association is at the forefront of efforts to improve literacy standards and employability in the city, through adult basic education, GED preparation, and providing English as a Second Language (ESL) courses.
Ranging from some of the greatest bestsellers to hidden literary gems, the collection of books at the sale is expected to cater to the varied tastes of Greenville’s reading community. With a range of categories including fiction, nonfiction, children’s books, cookbooks, and many more, the event promises to be a paradise for all bibliophiles. The selling point of the event, however, remains its attractive pricing with books available at incredibly low prices.
The event will kick-start with a party scheduled on the evening of Thursday, August 8, from 6 pm to 9 pm. The tickets to the kick-off party are priced at $50 per person or $90 per couple. Attendees of the party will get the chance to have the first pick from the extensive collection of books. The tickets also cover dessert, drinks, and music, ensuring an exciting evening for all attendees.
For those who may not be able to attend the kick-off party, the Really Good, Really Big, Really Cheap Book Sale will continue over the weekend. The sale is expected to run on Saturday, August 10 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sunday, August 11 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Proceeds from the sale go directly to support the services of the Greenville Literacy Association. By engaging in this event, not only can members of the community treat themselves to a wide range of books at low prices, but also participate in a cause that provides valuable contributions to local literacy programs.
