Crescent Startup Community, the Future Home for Innovation

Greenville has begun a new chapter in its journey to become a hub for innovation and entrepreneurial development with the announcement of the opening of Crescent One, the first phase in the much-anticipated Crescent Startup Community. This large-scale mixed-use Innovation district focuses on providing a streamlined zone for startups, entrepreneurs, and the fostering of innovative ideas and projects. Crescent One also welcomes its anchor tenant, Flywheel, extending innovative spaces within the district and contributing to the region’s vibrant startup ecosystem.

Flywheel: Nurturing the Spirit of Innovation in Greenville

Flywheel, takes pride in occupying 27,000 square feet as the anchor tenant of Crescent One. The space, essentially a hub of innovation, offers 40 pre-furnished private offices and suites, 60 coworking stations, and designated areas for meetings, seminars, and conferences that can host up to 300 attendees. Alicia Hardin, a founding partner of Flywheel, expressed her delight to be working with multiple organizations in Phase One, pledging to provide full-service support to several professionals, entrepreneurs, remote corporate workers, and startup founders.

An Array of Amenities at Crescent Startup Community

Flywheel members at Crescent One will enjoy a myriad of amenities including a daylit atrium, a social common living room with a self-service beverage bar, mail service, virtual mail, and copy print facilities, along with a dedicated high-speed fiber internet connection with 1 gig up/down bandwidth. Moreover, the expansive outdoor entertainment venue around the campus can be used as workspace during the day, complete with Wi-Fi access. Fitness with a View, another Crescent One tenant, will offer members and other building tenants access to its fully-equipped gym inclusive of a yoga studio and locker rooms.

Additional Tenant Suites and Future Phases

Beyond Flywheel, Crescent One also offers eight additional tenant suites which span from 2,500 to 5,000 square feet, thereby entailing over 20,000 square feet of additional space. All the tenants will enjoy corporate memberships with Flywheel. As Peter Marsh, the Founding Partner of Flywheel stated, the company’s prime focus is to co-locate a continuum of entrepreneurship resources under one roof to provide developmental support as well as capital resources to every founder walking through their door.

Redefining Greenville’s Innovation Landscape

The Crescent location on Poinsett Highway, which boasts of a rich innovation legacy as the former home of Pepsi-Cola Bottling Co. and The Piedmont Shirt Factory, is set to undergo transformation as part of this initiative. The renovation of the bottling facility to establish the Crescent One is viewed as Phase One of the Innovation District project. With subsequent phases, additional construction and the creation of green spaces are planned, thus breathing new life into Greenville’s Poinsett Corridor. This venture not only aims to support and retain local entrepreneurs but also attract companies and institutions that will contribute to the local community.
