The median household income in the area simply isn’t aligned with these costs, making it challenging for families to afford suitable housing. “This lack of affordable and quality homes has larger implications for the entire Upstate,” Barp continued. “Workers in Greenville County are having a tough time finding jobs close to home, which in turn hampers productivity and overall economic growth.”
