Greenville Symphony Orchestra Brings Free Outdoor Concert to Community
In the heart of Greenville, a beautiful and touching event is set to unfold this weekend that is sure to lift spirits and foster a sense of community. The Greenville Symphony Orchestra is reaching out to the public, offering a completely free live outdoor broadcast of its opening weekend concert. Mark your calendars for Sunday, October 6, as the music begins at 3 p.m. at the TD Stage located at the Peace Center.
A Beacon of Hope After Hurricane Helene
This concert is more than just an artistic performance; it symbolizes resilience and the incredible spirit of the community, especially in light of the recent challenges posed by Hurricane Helene. The decision to host this outdoor broadcast comes as a gesture of support and collective healing in the wake of the hurricane’s aftermath.
The featured performance will be none other than Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, often celebrated for its powerful themes of hope, joy, and unity. Accompanying the symphony will be talented guest choirs, including the Bob Jones University Chorale, Furman Singers, and North Greenville University Concert Choir. For those excited to participate in this free outdoor event, set up will begin early as space is first-come, first-served, so be sure to bring your favorite lawn chair or blanket to set down right in front of the LED screen displaying a live feed from the concert inside the Peace Center.
This musical gathering is presented by TD Synnex and is part of an effort that has raised over $16 million since its inception back in 2001.
