Stella’s Owners Launch Unique French-Inspired Spot at Bridgeway Station in Mauldin
Newest Addition Offers Fusion of French and Southern Cuisines in an High-End Setting
In Mauldin, known for its dedication to gastronomy and the growth of local businesses, the owners of well-loved eateries Stella’s Bistro and Stella’s Southern Brasserie have opened a French-inspired spot named ‘Rôtie by Stella’s’ at the burgeoning Bridgeway Station, offering a fresh yet familiar dining experience to the residents of the city. This new gem, adorning a retail space of 3000-square-feet at the mixed-use development, is the latest venture of restaurateurs Jason and Julia Scholz.
James King, the Culinary Director, along with Chef de Cuisine Justin Meadows, intends to source ingredients locally and regionally, promoting local farmers and vendors while ensuring the best quality of food for its patrons. The new setup is distinct in its ambience, enveloped by the European architectural elements of Bridgeway Station, including the special brickwork, archways, and unique stone features. In a statement, this establishment was described as smaller than their other ventures, featuring a stunning 16-seat bar concealed under a mezzanine of arches and low lighting.
An Unusual Fusion: French Meets Southern
Rôtie by Stella’s is planned to function as a full-service restaurant and bar, serving an upscale classic French rotisserie menu coupled with a Southern flair. The uniqueness of the menu lies in its structure, a departure from the traditional ‘starter, main, and dessert’ format, allowing patrons to design their own culinary journey. The offering extends from family-style protein dishes, small plates, large shareables to a assorted range of seasonal sides and delicately handpicked ingredients. This array of selections can be mixed and matched to suit groups of any size, perfect for families, friends, and even corporate gatherings.
Phil Hughes, the owner and president of Hughes Investments Inc., the developer of BridgeWay Station, showed his enthusiasm about the new venture. The host development, Bridgeway Station, houses several other retail tenants, including Old Europe Desserts, Jeremiah’s Italian Ice, Cocobowlz, and Mercato Café, among others. Various other spaces are in the process of set-up, expecting to open to the public in 2024. These include The Plank by Dine Upstate, Tavola by Table 301, Lili + Koko Boutique + Bubbles, Locos, and Lucille’s Music and Comedy Venue.
