The family of a Greenville City employee who was hit by a vehicle in a parking garage says she is now in rehab. The family of the employee, Mandy Carter Taylor, said she will most likely be in rehab for about six to eight weeks.

On May 23, 2024, Taylor was hit by a vehicle that was trying to exit the parking garage on North Church Street. She was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after the incident. Taylor said she is grateful to be alive and thanks everyone for their prayers and support as she continues to recover.

Words from Mandy Carter Taylor

“First I would like to thank the amazing God we serve. The miracles happening in front of our own eyes are truly amazing. Secondly, thank you to all of my family and friends. The outpouring support and prayers for myself and my boys and husband have been overwhelming. I greatly appreciate all of the texts, messages, and cards from everyone. There are some of you that know, but for most that do not know, yes, I was the City of Greenville employee struck by a car on May 23rd, 2024. I have not been able to reply or talk with you all personally, but hopefully in the near future, I will be able to use my phone with both hands and have the energy too. I have made it to rehab and have started the journey of learning how to live again. In due time I will be able to talk and have more visitors. Please be patient with me and our family on responses to messages or texts. We are literally living minute by minute right now, because things change so quickly. To all of you who have wanted to help in any way, and offering to bring dinner or take care of transportation for the boys, my gratitude to you all is beyond repaying. We will give updates as we can, we do ask for privacy to allow me to heal as quick and as well as possible. I also want to say this to everyone: Please remember.. God’s not done yet!!! Life is an adventure and we are going to give it our best and live it to the fullest. I love you all more than you can imagine.” – Mandy Carter Taylor

Following the incident, South Carolina Highway Patrol said charges on this case were pending.
