Simpsonville Arts Center to host ‘Dreamscapes’ exhibition

Greenville, SC – The Simpsonville Arts Center is set to showcase the captivating exhibition titled “Dreamscapes: Abstraction and Expressionism through a Feminine Lens” starting June 18. The exhibition will run until July 19 at the center located at 110 Academy St. in Simpsonville.

Artistic Vision

The exhibition will feature approximately 18 pieces created by abstract expressionist artist Rebecca Leidy Splawn. Splawn employs a unique technique using textured gesso, acrylic, charcoal, and oil pastels on canvas to bring her creations to life.

Personal Connection

Rebecca Leidy Splawn shared, “In this exhibition, you will find a series of works that are not only a reflection of my artistic vision but also an invitation to the viewer to engage with their own emotional responses. Each piece is a mirror, reflecting back the viewer’s own experiences and emotions, and in doing so, creating a unique and personal connection.”

Opening Reception

To mark the opening of “Dreamscapes,” a reception will be held at the Simpsonville Arts Center from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on June 28. The exhibition will be open to the public every Wednesday from 1 to 4 p.m., and by appointment.
