Trueline Greenville campaign highlights good works in the community
Doing good things does not always get recognized. Trueline Greenville wants to change that in Greenville by launching its See Good, Say Good campaign. Trueline has made waves with the planned development of a 34,000-square-foot music venue in the West End, but a focus for the business is adding positivity in the community. The campaign’s focus is simple: to bring attention to people and businesses in the area doing good things. The hope is that highlighting good deeds around the community will bring its members together and then spur more good deeds.
“I feel like it’s even more important than ever. We’ve spent so much time with tearing people or things down or finding what’s wrong,” said Michael Grozier, Trueline’s founder. “We very rarely spend any time going, ‘Hey, that’s really great. I think people should know about this.’”
Inspiration for the campaign
The inspiration for the campaign comes from several experiences in Grozier’s life. He first saw the phrase in the New Orleans House of Blues, which Grozier co-founded with Isaac Tigrett. “[Tigrett] just put it on the wall one time- Just painted it,” Grozier remembered. “His daughter was there and they were doing funny things on the walls of the building while we were under construction and they just wrote ‘See Good, Say Good.’”
“It was something that resonated with me personally. It seemed to matter.”
Celebrating community heroes
One example of a See Good, Say Good moment is the showcasing of The Handlebar and its co-founder, John Jeter, within the Trueline development. It will have a room called The Handlebar as an homage to Jeter’s work building the live music scene in Greenville. “It meant so much to so many people,” Grozier said. “And unless you were of an age that you went to shows there, All you do is hear the mythology when anyone talks about. So we want to support that continuity of thought. Recognize trailblazers.”
