GREENVILLE MAN SENTENCED FOR SELLING METH TO UNDERCOVER INVESTIGATOR

GREENVILLE, S.C. (HERE News) – A Greenville man has been sentenced to more than two decades in prison for selling methamphetamine, according to Thirteenth Circuit Solicitor Walt Wilkins.

Undercover Drug Bust

Wilkins revealed that David Mitchell Padgett, a resident of Greenville, pled guilty to selling meth and was subsequently sentenced. The court heard how on September 28, 2022, Padgett agreed to sell four ounces of meth to an investigator with the Greenville County Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Enforcement Unit who was working undercover.

During the exchange, Padgett sold 111.25 grams of meth to the undercover investigator at his home. Following the transaction, investigators executed a search warrant at Padgett’s residence and discovered over three pounds of methamphetamine in his possession.

Sentencing

On February 22, 2024, Padgett entered a guilty plea to trafficking in meth 100-200 grams. As a result, he has been sentenced to 25 years in the South Carolina Department of Corrections.
