Holiday Magic Returns to Greenville with “Holiday at Peace”
It’s that time of year again in Greenville! The beloved Holiday at Peace variety show is back for another round of festive fun at the Peace Center from December 6 to 8. Ever since its debut in 1993, this event has been a cherished part of the holiday season, and this year promises to be more exciting than ever before.
New Faces and Festive Rhythms
Get ready for a show that’s sure to delight audiences of all ages! This year, the talented Lee Mills, the new music director of the Greenville Symphony Orchestra, will be taking the spotlight. Mills has been working hard to craft a lively and engaging experience, declaring, “It’s going to be a fast-paced and highly entertaining extravaganza for the whole family!”
Attendees can expect a fabulous line-up of performances, featuring not only the Greenville Symphony Orchestra but also the incredibly talented Siri Howard, who some might recognize from her Broadway days. Howard, a former star of classics like Les Miserables and The Sound of Music, will be performing timeless holiday favorites such as “In the Bleak Midwinter,” “O Holy Night,” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.” It’s surely a treat you won’t want to miss!

And let’s not forget the heartwarming sounds of the Long Branch Baptist Church Gospel Choir, which joins the festivities this year! Mills explained that as we’re in the South, the “heartland of gospel music,” it only felt right to highlight this amazing style of music in the performance. The collaboration is sure to infuse the show with uplifting joy and warmth.

Due to growing popularity, the Greenville Symphony Orchestra has added a fourth performance this year—a Saturday matinee! Jessica Satava, the orchestra’s executive director, noted, “Each year, we add more spectacular elements to the show featuring world-class talent from the Upstate and nationally, and the demand has grown.” This means plenty of chances for everyone to enjoy the holiday magic at Peace.
All the Classic Touches
While many aspects of the show may be new, some things never change. You can expect a special visit from the one and only Santa Claus, keeping that cherished tradition alive. After all, what’s a holiday show without the big guy in red?!
