Greenville Connects has officially kicked off its 2024 Fare Free Days on Greenlink. Following the success of last year’s initiative, which saw an average boost of 25% in ridership during Fare Free Days, Greenville Connects is excited to bring back this popular program.
One rider expressed his excitement, stating, “I was happy to find out [May 2nd] was fare free.” He planned to spend the day riding all of the routes to discover more stops he can visit in the future and better learn his way around town.
Erin Predmore, Executive Director of Greenville Connects, highlighted the purpose of Fare Free Days, stating, “The goal of Fare Free Days is to encourage people to try out the system. Often, figuring out a new payment system can be daunting for first-time riders. Our hope is that by removing that barrier for a day, we can help more people explore what Greenville has to offer using the bus instead of their car.”
The transit advocacy nonprofit has already planned future 2024 Fare Free Days, including:
Greenville Connects invites residents and visitors alike to take advantage of these upcoming Fare Free Days to experience the convenience and benefits of Greenlink’s public transportation system.
