Greenville Names 2023-24 High School Boys Basketball All-Greenville Team
Greenville, SC – The Greenville News has announced its roster for the All-Greenville high school boys basketball team for the 2023-24 season. The team is stacked with talent and highlights some of the top players in the region.
Player of the Year:
Justin Ray (Eastside | Sr.) was named the Greenville News Player of the Year for the 2023-24 season. Ray, a 6-foot-3 guard, was the state’s third-leading scorer, averaging an impressive 25.1 points per game. He also holds the title of Eastside’s all-time leading scorer with 1,810 points. Ray’s stellar performance on the court included shooting 49.1 percent from the field and an outstanding 89.7 percent from the foul line. In addition to his scoring prowess, Ray led Eastside in rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks. He has committed to Monmouth.
First Team:
Amare Anderson (Greer | Jr.) had a standout season, earning two-time region player of the year honors. Anderson’s skills were on full display as he helped lead Greer to the Class AAAA Upper State final. He averaged 22.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists, solidifying his place as one of the top point guards in the state.
DJ Harvey (Christ Church | Sr.) was a key player in Christ Church’s second consecutive state championship victory. Named Class A player of the year, Harvey contributed 13.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 2.4 steals per game. His leadership and all-around performance were instrumental in the Cavaliers’ success.
Julen Iturbe (Riverside | Sr.) showcased his versatility on the court, leading Riverside to a 25-6 record and a spot in the Class AAAA state championship game. Iturbe, a 6-8 forward, not only excelled in scoring and rebounding but also stepped up to play point guard when needed. He is ranked as the state’s No. 2 overall prospect in his class and has signed with American University.
Nash Somero (Blue Ridge | Sr.) made significant strides in his senior year, doubling his scoring average from the previous season. A standout performance included a 43-point game that solidified his place among Blue Ridge’s top scorers of all time. Somero averaged 21 points, 3.7 assists, and 3.0 rebounds per game, earning recognition as one of the most improved seniors in the state by Prep Hoops.
Second Team:
The All-Greenville second team features a talented lineup of players who demonstrated skill and determination throughout the season:

- Dre Huff, Sr., Woodmont
- Musa Murithi, Sr., Greer Middle College
- Jack Pfister, Sr., Greer Middle College
- Ryder Stauffer, Sr., Travelers Rest
