Bluffton, South Carolina – A tragic road accident in Beaufort County on Sunday claimed the life of one person and left another injured. The fatal collision occurred when an SUV struck a tree on Bluffton Parkway around 11:18 p.m.
The deceased was a passenger in a 2011 Toyota Rav4 heading east on Bluffton Parkway. Highways Patrol Master Trooper William Bennett revealed the vehicle, which had three occupants, veered off the right side of the road. The driver overcorrected, causing the SUV to run off to the other side and forcefully hit a tree.
The impact resulted in one fatality at the scene, while another passenger required immediate hospitalization. Miraculously, the driver of the vehicle didn’t sustain injuries. Authorities are withholding the identities of the individuals involved pending notification of next-of-kin.
